Cuomo violates state law in his effort to pass gun control

CuomoNew York has passed a series of unconstitutional gun control measures as a means of exploiting the Newtown tragedy.

Therefore, it should come as little surprise that they were willing to violate state law in order to pass this anti-civil-rights monstrosity.

New York state law requires that new bills have a 3 day ‘aging period’ before they can be acted upon. This aging period is designed to allow citizen input to legislators and to prevent emotional votes.

However, Governor Cuomo decided to ignore this requirement. And he isn’t even trying to hide the fact that he did so to avoid public comment and opposition.

He told reporters that he did so “to give the bill the best chance of passing.

Citizens of New York … your voice means nothing to these politicians. They are going to ram this legislation down your throats.

The next question is whether or not the citizens of New York will comply. After all, the politicians didn’t feel the need to obey the law.  Why should you?

Proposed New York law will prevent transfer of currently owned firearms

sheldon_silver.jpgTake a look America. This is the face of evil … the very, very, wrinkled face of evil. It belongs to Sheldon Silver the Speaker of the New York Assembly.

This afternoon, he unveiled more details of the draconian gun laws he and his ilk are proposing for New York. The bill proposes to violate civil rights in a number of unconstitutional ways but the most egregious by far is the ‘death confiscation’ on currently owned semi-auto rifles.

Under the proposed law, any currently owned firearm will be grandfathered as far as possession but the owner will need to register it, renew a license every 5 years, and it will be non-transferable.

What exactly does that mean? It means that you can never sell it, never give it as a gift, and when you die, you cannot leave it to your children. It, like the few remaining vestiges of freedom left in New York, will die with your generation.

Predicting ban on semi-autos, Schumer calls on stores to stop selling now

SchumerNew York Senator and rabid anti-gunner Chuck Schumer today called on all major retailers to shut-down the Second Amendment by voluntarily stopping sales of semi-auto firearms until he and his cronies on the Democrat party can take legislative action.

Flat out lying to the press, Schumer makes it appear as if the sales occurring at major big-box retailers are totally unregulated.  “We have no idea how many people [buying these guns] are mentally ill, or how many are felons.

That’s right … he wants the press and those who are unfamiliar with gun laws to believe that Walmart is going to sell a gun without the required background check which insures that felons and those who have been adjudicated mentally incapacitated are not allowed to buy a gun.

That leaves us with two possibilities.  1)  He is an idiot who has no right passing legislation that infringes upon the rights of law-abiding Americans, or 2) He is a conniving liar who is a traitor to everything this nation stands for.  I know which option I personally believe.

YOU need to call your local Walmart and let them know that your future dollars are contingent upon them NOT giving in on gun control!

The man who would be king: President Obama to take executive action against gun owners

Smirking_ObamaToday President Obama stated that he is still awaiting a report from Vice President Biden on gun control suggestions.

However, he was quick to assure the press that he felt that there were steps he could take to accomplish his agenda without needing congressional action.

I’m confident that there are some steps that we can take that don’t require legislation and that are within my authority as president, and where you get a step that, has the opportunity to reduce the possibility of gun violence, then I want to go ahead and take it.

But make no mistake about it. The plan being devised by the administration has nothing to do with reducing gun violence and everything to do with exploiting the Newtown tragedy to forward a radical gun control agenda.

Don’t forget … this is the same smiling politician who stood in front of crowds of blue-collar democrats and assured them that “I won’t take away your guns.

For those who believed that, I can only say that he is a liar and you are naive.

New York appears ready to fire the first shot in the coming gun-control battle

Cuomo_BloombergSources speaking on condition of anonymity have reported that anti-gun New York legislators feel they have the votes to pass the nations first knee-jerk, draconian reaction to the Newtown madman.

The sources state that the bill will add even more firearms to the list of those already banned in New York and will limit magazine capacity to 7. Any such legislation would be almost certain to lead to a court challenge since the firearm from the Heller case had a 12 round magazine.

If you had asked me 10 years ago where the death of American freedom would start, I would probably have said New York. It looks like I would have been right.

Grand Rapids mayor refuses to obey state law

George_HeartwellAt a City Commission meeting last Wednesday, Grand Rapids Michigan Mayor George Heartwell heard from Michigan Open Carry that a Grand Rapids city ordinance runs afoul of state law.

In a statement issued after the meeting, Mayor Heartwell admitted that the ordinance may be in violation of state law but he nonetheless fully intends to ignore the law.

They may be correct. Whether they are correct or not, however, I have no interest in amending our ordinance nor have I heard interest on the part of my colleagues in doing so.

He also called upon the country and the state to pass more gun control.

I call on the citizens of Grand Rapids to join me in petitioning our state legislature to put in place rational gun control measures. I have heard from a number of citizens who want to join in forming a Coalition for Gun Control. I intend to offer the support and leadership of my office to launch such an effort in our city.”

THIS is the mindset of those who would strip you of your rights. They wish to pass laws encumbering you while ignoring laws themselves. If only they were capable of feeling shame.

Elderly Wisconsin store owner turns the tables on armed robber

Wisc_Store_OwnerErnestine Aldana and her husband have owned a small grocery store in Milwaukee Wisconsin for two years. But last month was the first time that she had ever been faced with an armed robbery.

Thankfully, her son had purchased her a firearm and had taken her to the range. She grabbed the gun and the robber fled. Like the majority of defensive gun uses, this crime was thwarted without a single shot being fired.

OpenCarry.org quoted in article on Portland men who open carry rifles

Gun DemonstrationI was contacted yesterday by Noelle Crombie from the Oregonian. She wanted OpenCarry.org to comment on the case of Warren Drouin and Steven Boyce who have undertaken a campaign of long-gun open carry in the Portland area.

While pointing out that our mission at OpenCarry.org is to advance the right to openly carry properly holstered handguns, I went on to add that we would not condemn these men for exercising their rights.

I was also pleasantly surprised to hear that the behavior of police when approaching the two activists has been largely professional.
