With the recent Seventh Circuit opinion in Moore v. Madigan holding that the Second Amendment right to bear arms extends outside the home, we now have at least a partial circuit split with the Second Circuit that makes it likely the Supreme Court will need to resolve the issue.
Gun rights supporters should hope this occurs before any of the current conservative justices retire since any nominee that President Obama puts forward will almost certainly be an enemy of self-defense laws.
